  • Need help with Subaru Paint - Pics Attached

I have posted a previous forum asking what polish and wax to do a 2006 Subaru. I now have pics. I have a DA and am comfortable with a rotary. Should I use:
    1. DA + UC
    or
    2. Rotary with mo105?
    or any other combo?

Also what waxes are strong enough to stay on in the hot Aussie sun?

    Thanks.
Here are the pics of the car. The entire car is cobwebbed.

Some of those look somewhat deep. I would do a test spot of each but prob go with the rotary and m105 then m205 with the DA

Wow, beat up 06! I'd have to say that you'll need to use the rotary with 105 as well. I can't imagine the DA being aggressive enough, even with UC for this job.

This looks like M105 with a rotary and a wool pad followed by M205 by DA with a W8*** polishing pad. Some of those scratches look very deep, as if wetsanding may be the only possible option. You could try a W7*** foam cutting pad on a test spot before going to the wool pad btu if the whole car looks like this then a wool pad may be in order.

Try Ultimate Compound on the D.A with a W8207 pad before doing anything mentioned above.

Your going to have to do the door handle and underneath it by hand. For something like that I would use UC or M105 and a microfiber towel or foam applicator pad.

sweet. will try the less abrasive and cheaper option for me with the D.A and the W8207 first. What wax would you finish with?

Yes, start with the least aggressive method.

What do you have already for waxes and sealants?

i only have the high-tech yellow wax (26) but have owned the same tub for about 5 years! is it still ok after that time? it's nice and clean and still moist. i was thinking of purchasing the NXT wax as the gold class isn't out yet in Australia.

I would go with NXT 2.0 as your wax and if the M26 still feels like a wax then it should be fine to use.

great. will try the softer approach and then follow it up with a new tub of NXT 2.0! thanks for you input on this!

Good luck, hopefully you take a nice series of photos. This one will make the extreme makeover section if you do a nice job.

I'm excited to see how things turn out with the suggested Ultimate Compound 8207 pad combo. Hopefully all goes well and you only need to put out $10-15 for the pad.

am pushing to get the car this weekend or the following. i have ordered some products online to be sent over from the states (it's cheaper than buying here - go figure!). i will make sure a good set of pics are taken to document it all. if the UC doesn't hold up then i will order in some m105 to bring in some muscle. it's going to be a big learning curve either way i think!

Buying online from US is the way to go.

Australian stealers are ripping us of with everything we buy here.

Fortunately, all of my friends are buying online from US, as it is much cheaper.

                              Good luck with wrx job.
