I got my new Audi A5 Cabriolet in January:

Instructed dealer not to wash > Two bucket washed > clayed > Show Car Glaze > NXT Tech Wax.

Now I'm getting ready for June detailing, should I stay with 'Show Car Glaze' or use a different product?

What's the difference btwn "Polish & Glaze"?

    Thanks
    Rico

    Re: Audi

Pure Polish and Glaze are the same. Are just products that create high gloss in the paint but has no cleaning ability as all.

How is the condition of the paint? Do you have any kind of defects?

      Hi Yalerd,

So Pure polish & glaze are the same; then adding abrasives to a polish makes it a glaze?

The Audi has no paint defects or spider webs etc..

      Thanks I'll review the link!

        Rico,
You cant add abrasives to the polish because they are PURE POLISH, they're oils that restore the depth of color on the car making it look wet. There are products like M83 Cleaner/Polish that has some abrasives to remove light defects and has some olis to add color depth to the paint.

So go ahead and buy some M07 Showcar Glaze apply it and dont let it dry, wipe right away after the application. Always read the instructions in the back.

This is because you dont have paint defects. Otherwise go with M80

Meguiar's uses the term "polish" and "glaze" interchangeably, but they are the same. These type of products are in the "family" of what are Pure Polishes, that are product without any kind of abrasive and the effect they offer is high gloss giving deep wet look to the paint finish.

Meguiar's has some products that contain abrasives and some oils that you can find in pure polishes, these products are Cleaner/Polishes. As the names says, these are products that will remove defects (depending how aggressive they are) and will restore oils.

If you have no defects at all, then you won't need a product that is formulated to remove defects. So your course of action is:
          Wash/Clay (if needed)/M07 Showcar Glaze/Wax

            Hi Guys,

I was looking at Detailing. c o m & they separate Meguiars (section for each) polishes & glazes, thus implying a difference.

M07 okay to use my G110? And seeing that this has no abrasives what speed? Guess 3 or 4. Work area 12 x 12" right?

            Thanks
