  • New Paint

have been working on a 95 Wrangler jeep for awhile but was not able to afford a good paint job .So I ended up with a Maaco paint job not clear coat they recommend that after 4 to 6 weeks that you use a"automotive wax that does not contain abrasive cleaning agents. I have a bottle of Gold Class Carnauba Plus that I use on my van would that be OK to use or would you recommend something else.. It didn't come out bad considering all the body work I did Thanks

I don't see why you couldn't use Gold Class Plus after 4-6 weeks.

Ideally you should wait anywhere from 60-90 days for the paint to out gas. You could try a pure polish, #5, or #7 come to mind. Or you could use #80 which has a lot of polishing oils in it. Basically it would be a wipe on wipe off procedure. Do not let any of the above dry.

While we normally recommend waiting 60-90 days for a repaint to fully outgas before applying a wax, if the body shop says something different then so be it. They should know the paint system they are using and should have some direction from the paint supplier.

If they recommend using a non cleaner wax after a specified period of time, Gold Class will fit the bill just fine.
