Did you try wiping after your application with a MF towel? That could remove any product that didn't soak into your dash etc.

You can use Quik Interior Detailer or Meguiar's Natural Shine Protectant or even Meguiar's Ultimate Protectant

Some product that leave this feeling, I would recommend apply it, let it settle for a couple of minutes and always come back with a clean microfiber towel and remove the excess.

Well I tried wiping the product off when I noticed the oil residue but it's still there which is annoying me. Will have to wash it off as I applied it to my internal door rests and foot rest.

I would start all over. Get a All Purpose Cleaner clean the areas thoroughly. Then try #40, or the Ultimate protectorant.

I would go with Meguiar's Natural Shine or Supreme Shine.
