It theoretically can't hurt the washing process, only help it.
That sounds like a steal, about half price! I know a lot of people love them, and they have been sold out for quite a while on many sites.

I think so too! The guy actually PM'd me about it, great deal! 30 buck, can't hurt anyway.

I use a lot more soap than I did before, but I don't mind. I love it.

Pre-rinsing and then washing should use more soap of course.

              Re: Foam Gun

It's not like I'm running a business though. Just m vehicle. I can afford the extra ounce of soap or whatever it takes to wash my car with it, as long as I feel that it's safer for my finish.
5 washes in, and I can honestly say, thanks to this forum, that there isn't a visible swirl on my car. (And this is before wax!)
I intend to keep it that way, or as best as I can within reason.

Personally, I wouldn't spend my money on a Foam Canon, nothing beats the 2 bucket method. Are the cool? Yup! but I've got lots of cool stuff and don't really need more right now.

I got a deal on it used. Couldn't hurt to try it though.
I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't excited to get home and try it out!

Well, I did spend my money on one, but did not like soap drying on the paint, so now it is a toy for the kids. It may look cool using the foam gun, but nothing beats the two bucket method, in my opinion.

                      Re: Foam Gun

I ordered a gilmoar foamaster II via amazon.com for $36 when it was backordered. Finally they ship it to me and I just got it today. Unfortunately, it is missing the long nozzle and of course it is on backorder again and amazon cannot just ship me the nozzle and they are telling me I can send it back to them at my own expense for a "full refund" (how is that a full refund when they expect me to pay to send it back at my own expense? Not to mention my gas to go to the post office and my time wasted standing in line. I am pretty pissed off with em) and they'll send me another within 2 months.

How well does it work with no nozzle? For $36 I am willing to eat the cost of their screw up and may even send them a box full of dog **** at my own expense for satisfaction instead.

                        Re: Foam Gun

Is the nozzle just cylinderical narrowing down to a spray pattern? Maybe I can just get a pipe and lathe one end to fit the foamaster and flatten the other end for the spray pattern.

                          Re: Foam Gun

No, the nozzle is what has the ports/openings/whatever to cause the foaming.

Could try contacting Gilmour directly perhaps.

has anyone figured out a way to put the gilmour foam gun down without it tipping over while connected to the hose?

                              Who puts it down?

Actually, I pretty much do have it in hand from the time I connect it and start washing to the time I take it off to rinse.

really you never put it down? maybe i am do doing something wrong then, after i spray the car with the foam gun i use a sponge that has the same type of car soap thats in the gun(gold class), and i wipe each part of the car, and after the wipe down of each part of the car i rinse the sponge off and put it back in the a bucket with car soap and spray the next panel with the foam gun and so on, i do this because i noticed that if i just spray the car with the foam gun and let the soap sit and rinse there is still dirt on the car so i use a sponge and i dont want to hold the foam gun while i am wiping down each panel but when i put it down it falls to its side.
