Detailing Virgin - Quick Questions.

Just purchased the ADS Meguiar's G110v2 Six Pack Special (4 Yellow Pads & 2 Black Pads) and needless to say, I'm pumped.

My subject will be my Black 2002 Z71 Tahoe; I'm revamping it with new wheels and tires (18" XD Monsters w/ 35" Nitto Trail Grapplers M/T), so I thought I'd better jump on detailing the beast and give it a "fresh" start...not to mention the swirls are starting to get on my nerves.

After researching, I'm thinking my Plan of Action will be as follows:
Step 1 & 2: Extensive Wash & Clay Bar
Step 3: Ultimate Compound - Applied w/ G110v2 (Yellow Pad w/ 6 Passes Per Section)
Step 4: Swirl X - Applied w/ G110v2 (Yellow Pad w/ 6 Passes Per Section)
Step 5: Liquid Glass - Applied and Buffed Off by Hand

I'm NOT experienced in hardcore detailing like most of you so...
*What SPEED setting do I need to use during Steps 3 & 4 on the G110v2?
*Would Liquid Glass in Step 5 work as a solid substitute for NXT 2.0 Wax?
*Should I apply the wax (LG OR NXT) with the G110v2 and a Black Pad (Buffed by Hand)?

I really appreciate any feedback and feel free to suggest a different plan of action if need be; I'm a detailing virgin, but I'm excited (and a little nervous) about my first time...LOL. Thanks a ton!

Your plan sounds fine to me

As for the Speed on the G110v2 anything used to remove defects from paint, you would use Speed 5. So basically when using Ultimate Compound and SwirlX you would want to put your machine in Speed 5.

You can apply wax with the G110v2, if you do then use Speed 3 on it. Some people like taking the time and apply wax by hand and some prefer applying it with the DA, it's a matter of preference.

I can't speak for Liquid Glass, haven't used this product but NXT 2.0 is a really good product, gives awesome appearance and a protection that other products envy

As for suggestions, just remember to apply two thin coats of wax. Apply a coat, wait approximately 15min and remove and apply another coat, wait, and remove. This ensure even appearance and protection.

I'm no expert, but sounds good so far.
I would suggest just applying the wax with your DA. It's easy to do, and will save you a bit of time, after your practice with it over the UC and swirlx.
I wouldn't say though 'six passes'. It could take more, or less. Obviously, just use your judgement while using it. Try a test spot first, of course

In addition to the time savings Paul mentioned, it is also less effort (IMHO) to put on the wax with the DA. This is especially helpful on a larger vehicle like your Tahoe.
