Hi, I was wondering if you could use cleaner wax, polish, rubbing compound, and wax on a car that has a single stage paint system without damaging it? Thanks

Re: Single stage paint
The car that I want to work on is a white 1989 Honda prelude, the paint is still in good condition that still shines on it's own but I want to add more shine to it, sorry but I don't have any pictures, so would rubbing compound, wax cleaner, polish, wax, damage the paint If I use it? Thanks

Re: Single stage paint
What I would want to do is:
1. Wash - Gold Class, 2 buckets, quality towels, etc.
2. Clay - Smooth Surface Clay kit
3. Clean - Have some options here, depending how bad the paint is. SwirlX would be a good product for general cleaning and some defect removal. Ultimate Compound is also an option for more serious defects. I have not used the new Polishing or Rubbing Compounds in the little tubs, but they could be used as well. The Rubbing Compound is probably somewhere in between SwirlX and UC.
4. Polish - This step is optional, but being older single stage paint, a pure polish like Deep Crystal Polish would be good and easy to use.
5. Wax - Can pick your favorite wax, Nxt or Gold Class are popular.
6. Wax - 2 thin coats are best.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Re: Single stage paint
Thanks guys, but I read on here that if your car has a single stage paint job, when you wax paint is going to come off that's why in asking, or is that going to happen if you use to much wax? Thanks and I bought all the meguiars products from dry towels and wash MIT, to gold class wax, clay kit, and cleaner wax, and gold class wash

Re: Single stage paint
When you use a cleaner, some paint comes off. On CC paint, it is clear, so you cant see it. On SS paint, you will see the color of the paint.
It can happen with wax, but is more more rare. Much more with cleaners.
But it is normal.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue
