What'll I Need After Claying Glass?

As I was prepping for tomorrow's detail, I read here that one can clay glass and apply Ultimate Compound on it (the latter on the headlights as well prior to using the restoration kit). But I also read that it's best to apply a protectant as well to finish. Now I'm wondering which product to go with: Nxt Generation Glass Cleaner or Ultimate Quik Wax? The UQW, I read, works fine and would be an indispensible maintenance tool for the rest of the car. But perhaps I should be getting something a little more specific? What are your thoughts?

I just give the glass a good cleaning with the detailer line glass cleaner. You could do either step. So after claying, you could just clean the glass with the nxt glass cleaner and you are done.

Glass doesnt need a protectant. It is up to you if you want a wax, RainX, etc on it, some people like it, some dont.

And you really only need the UC on the glass if you have stubborn dirt, water spots to try and remove. If they clay and glass cleaner gets everything, dont need to UC it.

Wash with glass cleaner, clay, if there are stubborn water spots I like duragloss nu glass then clean again, I use a wax on my glass but lately I like using Duragloss rain repel

An application of wax on the headlights will just burn off in short time.

We don't recommend anything beyond claying and typical cleaning for windows. Applying a wax too heavy can, in some cases, lead to streaking when the windshield wipers come on. This isn't always the case, but it's common enough that we don't want this to happen to you if it starts raining at night. Best to just clay and then clean with a good glass cleaner.

Thanks for the information. My concern was not really for the windshield but for the power windows on my car. I drive with the windows down a lot and would hate to have them squeek against the rubber each time they go up or down. Clay and glass cleaner it is then.
