I just used a clay bar on my Dodge Ram and was going to use Meguiar's cleaner wax next. I would then use NXT 2.0 topped with #26 hi-tech yellow. Is this a good combo or am I missing something? I am new at this so any suggestions would be appreciated!

Will cleaner wax work as a polish?

Re: Will cleaner wax work as a polish?
That sounds like a good plan but I would leave off the #26 at the end.
Cleaner wax acts as an AIO (All-in-one) product in that it cleans, polishes and protects. By cleaning it will remove slight oxidation and very shallow defects; by polishing it will bring back some gloss and clarity to the finish; by protecting it leaves behind a layer of wax.
Many people use A12 Cleaner Wax (the maroon bottle) or Colorx (a cleaner wax with more cleaning power) topped with NXT 2.0 as a quick detail. You could top the NXT 2.0 with #26 but two coats of wax is all you really need.Tedrow's Detailing

To OP. Your original idea will work just fine.As you learn more you might want to try different processes. It all depends on how really "fussy" you become. I've been messin' with waxing (detailing) vehicles for over fifty years and I am still darn "fussy".

I agree with Tom. If you want to go with the CW-NXT-M26 combo, by all means give it a try. The look will generally take on the look of the last applied LSP.
You could also go with CW-NXT or CW-M26 or CW-GC. There are no magical combinations. Feel free to try them all and discover on your own what you like best.
If durability is a decisive concern, then you might want to stick with CW-NXT.Swirls hide in the black molecular depths, only waiting for the right time to emerge and destroy your sanity.
