  • Question on Orbital Buffer

    Hi,

I have been detailing by hand forever, but I start finding it hard on my arms and back. I understand the best is to work with a DA, by dad has an orbital buffer sitting in his garage. Would that at least help a bit, or would it make more damage?

Give this a read through: http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42620

And it is almost impossible to harm the finish with one of those orbital buffers. I guarantee that it will not hurt the paint. Well, I take that back, if you throw it at the car then it will cause some damage.

It will help in applying/removing wax. That's it. Will not do much of anything for paint correction.

        Re: Question on Orbital Buffer

If your arm is getting tired I think the orbital is a great idea to apply your LSP. And no, as the others have said, it will not hurt your car. I used to use Vector a lot before I got my DA.

            Re: Question on Orbital Buffer

I used a similar Sears orbital for years and thought it made the work easier. After getting a Meg's G110 I discovered night and day difference!! With the G110 you have the option of using different pads for different results and much more power for removing swirls and spider webs. The less expensive orbitals just can not produce those results. They also tended to wear out quicker and are not repairable.

Read the link coopers posted. it sure cleared up a lot of questions and misguided info i ever read and thought in the past.

the guy who did that thread - this stangkrazy did a good job at putting it all together. and he explains it pretty good to.
