  • glaze? Before or after

hi,can you tell me which is the correct way to apply glaze? Before or after applying a sealant? Some people say if you apply before sealant it can reduce sealants capability to attach to the paint. True or false? Thks

Well, cant speak for every company, but with Meguiars and most products, the polish/glaze will be first, then the wax/sealant.

Like Murr1525 said, you would want to apply your polish or glaze first, and then put your wax or sealant over it. If you put down a pure polish/glaze and didn't put a wax/sealant over it the polish/glaze would dissipate in a matter of days.

As well as the above replys ("apply first"), there was an old thread where Meguiars technical staff said that the Meguiars glaze was actually designed to improve the ability of the Meguiars wax/sealants to bond to the paint.

A Glaze and a Polish are essentially the same thing. Apply the Polish/Glaze, then the Paint Sealant, then the Wax.

So, if my son has a date and wants to use the recently waxed dark-colored car, does putting a coat of glaze on it for a temporary shine boost do any good?

Probably will interfere or remove some of your wax coat.
