  • Stupid question...

...if it is you can flame me, but, my wife accidentally nicked one of the doors with her rings. It was a moderate scratch so after cleaning the area I tried scratchx snd when that didn't work 105 with pretty heavy pressure using a meg's foam applicator and my index and middle finger. After a minute or so of rubbing it came out pretty well. My concern was however (and I should have thought about this first but the spot took my attention) if you can rub through the clearcoat by hand and 105?

I suppose it is possible. However very unlikely doing this by hand one time.

Hope you remembered to apply fresh wax to the area?

Theoretically, yes. You would have to work for quite a while to do so, but we've seen it happen even with a less aggressive product than M105. Here's the thing though - if the scratch is so shallow that you can't feel it you should be able to remove it without going through the clear. If you have a scratch so deep that your fingernail catches in it, then while you may be able to minimize the appearance of this scratch, complete removal may well remove so much clear as to be unsafe.
