  • This is okay right?

I had finished detailing my car on Friday night at my parents' house and drove back home (40 miles) and parked in my garage. I noticed that there was some residual oiliness from the m16 and was wondering if it is okay to go over the csr with ONR qd (2 oz to 32 oz) and follow that with a quick coat of UQW since it buffs to such a nice shine. It wasn't raining or anything on the way home snd the car has been in the garage since then. I just do not want to swirl it up after all of the work.

    Thanks,
    Andy

You would probably be better off washing it with something like Ultimate Wash and Wax. Forty miles is a bit of a drive.

Then in that case I will wait until next weekend or during the week with ONR. I don't have any UW&W yet but as soon as I use up my GC I'm going to give it a try since others and yourself have great results with it.

If its not "dirty" and no bugs all over it then ONR would be just fine.

You said you had some streaking and residue from the M16? If thats the case, then you do not want to have to fight that off back and forth with a microfiber.

One light pass with a wash mitt when washing would probably take care of it easier and reduce the chance of instilling any swirls or scratches.

I dont think UW&W is something I would want for every wash. But when not doing any detailing, or spray waxing, etc after washing, UW&W is a great product to have around.

I would not give up totally on the Gold Class. I would still use it the majority of the time. I tend to use the w+w as a in between, a booster if you will. I personally go by the notion if the car is very dirty, I would rather wash it with a regular car wash. Just my 0.02 worth.

That's s good point. It was giving me difficulties with smearing when I initially was wiping it off. I think it may have been the humidity because I know how to apply it correctly and I have used it a number of times before with no problem. Well maybe I'll give it a true ONR wash tomorrow after work (depending on how tired I am). Thanks for all of the input guys!

                  Re: This is okay right?

I agree with using GC as the wash of choice the majority of the time. One being that it is the slickest of the consumer washes, IMO, and leaves an awesome finish, similar to the one left by #62. UWW is also $9 for 48 oz so that is another reason why not to use it so often. You could use UWW as a booster the same way you could use UQW as a booster, the difference being that UWW can be used on a dirty vehicle (obviously) whle UQW can not.
