Re: cf hood
I would imagine carbon fiber is cf.
I have seen from the pictures at the Saturday and Thursday classes that you can trest carbon fiber like you can paint. You can clay, clean, polish and wax the surface. Please correct me if I am wrong.Tedrow's Detailing

Re: cf hood
I am sorry, cf (carbon fiber) hood. The problem is that I have tried different waxes and none of them work. I was told that there is a special polish or wax for it. I was trying to figure it out so that maybe I can make the car look as good as it should.

I recently just bought a cf hood (repainted) but they come new with a coat of clear of them. First I washed with gold class. Next I used the clay bar kit and clayed the hood. Then came the cleaner wax - I applied with an orbital buffer. After that I applied by hand a coat of NXT 2.0 paste wax. After the nxt 2.0, I removed and then added a coat of #26 paste wax. Finished it off by spraying with ultimate quick detailer and wiping it off.
The shine is amazing and matches the rest of my car.

Re: cf hood
depends on what company produced your c/f hood. i have two c/f hoods, one vis, one carbon creations.oh, i also have a vis trunk and vis rear window diffuser.
see, vis actually mixes their gel and clear together and sprays it down an assembly line.
carbon creations is a gel cured then clear sprayed.
as for products, i find meguiars boat and rv line perefect as it is also based to gel coats. try the oxidation remover, this stuff works wonders. as for wax, any wax is fine but i will stress on this, if using nxt2.0....watch out, it will streak/ghost every time. even gold class does this. even applied thin and left to cure for almost an hour. if you do get it to work fine then do not spray it with uqd if the hood is hot, also trust me. i love my meg's products but this will happen.
