I recently purchased a 2004 Mustang Cobra(red) out of Utah and have been cleaning it up. However, there are water spots in some places on the paint(mostly under the hood) that have a whiteish border to them. I don't know what it is and I don't know if Utah has hard water or not. One of my car-guy freinds thought that it might be calcium deposits. I have tried removing them(testing in obscure places) with water, Meguiar's Auto Detailer, gasoline, and Scatchx2.0. I have not tried bug/tar remover, polishing or rubbing compound yet.
Any ideas as to what this may be?
What product(s) and/or technique(s) would you suggest?
Thanks, Jay
