Need help with the Makita 9227

Need help !!

I just got a hold of Makita 9227. I am about to start detailing my car this week. THe problem is the installation with the backing plate. I have Meg's backing plate W-64. Makita's spindle seems to be too big for the plate. I try to screw spindle into the plate but it stucks just after a few mm in.
The plate that comes with the tool seems to be fine. I can screw the spindle all the way into the plate. Is there something wrong?

Sometimes when the plate is new, the threads are a little tight making the first few times of placing the plate on the spindle a little more difficult. However, it should not be too hard. If it is, I would call Meguiar's Customer Care and let them know. I am sure they will take care of you.
