  • Plastic Bumpers in need of some serious help

Hello detailing mavens. I've got a '99 Toyota Sienna with gray plastic bumpers and they're looking pretty dang bad. Seriously faded, with white spots and all manner of discoloration.

Is there any type of product and method to help? I'm thinking I might need some sort of product with a dye or paint, but what will work on plastic?

If they are unpainted bumpers I would suggest washing them real good and dressing them with Meguiar's Gold Class Trim Detailer or Meguiar's Ultimate Protectant. Just apply the product and let it sit for a couple of minutes and then come back with a microfiber towel and remove the excess.

Just to add to what "yalerd" said, both of the products he mentioned should be worked into the bumper, not just wiped on and let to sit.

Thanks guys. I found some "Ultimate Protectant" at Pep Boys, so I just need to track down the Trim Detailer and I'll be good to go.

Just to make sure, you don't need both. One will do
But if you are willing to try both and see which you prefer than that's fine also

              Ahhh...I see.

In that case, I'll probably go for the bottle with the picture of just a car bumper instead of the one with both a dashboard and a car bumper.

If the UP is what you can get, go for it. It will be a solid product.

If the bumpers are a eally dry, could take a couple applications. Then let the last one sit for a bit, and come back to wipe off any excess.
