Here is what I am working with, 04 white truck, paint is like new, I keep it washed and wax, wash about every 2-3 weeks, depending on weather and wax ever month or 2, when I notice it not beading up much, spray wax in between and some UQD. I clay it about twice a year. I wax with NXT or gold class and am happy with the look. No swirl marks or marking.

Other car is a brand new silver altima, so new I havent even washed it yet! Its been raining here. I did notice a little scuff on the roof that I will need to take care of though.

I have never used a straight polish. Ive used cleaner wax on my white truck, usually after winter to clean up some tar, brown spects, winter contaminants that collected on it ect. So my question, should I add it to the regimen? If I should try some, what product will work well, and is the least aggressive to use on paint that is in good shape.

    Thanks

Cleaner wax is not a bad idea, even on a new car. You can kill two birds with one stone. As far as what cleaner wax to use, give M06 a whirl.

      Re: Polish

Given the list of products you are currently using, I assume you purchase from stores that carry the consumer line only. With that in mind, DC#2 is a great pure polish. By 'pure', I mean it is not abrasive. There are no defect removal capabilities (unlike a product such as M80). With a pure polish, you are nourishing the paint, but you will not remove any defects with it.

I would highly recommend you add a polish to your current regimen. It will certainly make a difference and will make your paint pop. A long time ago, I was under the impression polish was for darker colors. I added the polishing step to silver car I was working on and was amazed by the end result. The silver popped like I had never seen before. I am a believer of polish now, on ALL colors.

        Re: Polish

I normally do buy local from stores, but i just placed an order @ADS. Picked up some things from the detailer and pro line that I cant get locally. Wish I would of gotten some polish now as well. Is it better to use a pure polish or one with some abbrasives in it. I may try some swirl X for some light marks and then the crystal polish, followed by NXT or gold class.

          Re: Polish

For relatively new cars, and with light colored paint, a cleaner/polish like SwirLX will certainly be fine.

A pure polish may add a little extra, but nothing to freak out over if you dont have it.

I misunderstood the question, I thought you were asking about cleaner wax.

I have used Megs #9, and I tell you, that stuff works very well.

Most local Auto Parts stores carry this stuff.
