    HELP 2010 Black Tundra TRD Sport

    I have been out of the Meguiar's loop for quite some time now and need some much needed help to make my Truck Look like the profectionest that i am. I bought it From the dealer new with 7 miles on it and brought it home and put next gen tech wax on it. last night washing my truck i was going over it with a fine tooth comb and noticed i need to clay bar it, now also looking at it the paint looks like a million and a half spider-webs on it (swirl marks) and the paint doesn't even feel like glass anymore. I live in Southern Cali and yes its going to be getting warm soon.

    What products do i need to get (yes i have micro fiber wash mitt and drying towels and meg. ultimate wash and wax) to get my truck to shine and be worthy of showing off the Meguiar's shine? I am not a fan of buffers nor do i know how to use them. I am willing to put in the elbow grease and time to get it looking like glass.

    Are you looking to purchase products from Meguiar's consumer line? Or are you wanting products off the Mirror Glaze (professional) line? This will make a difference in the products that are recommended to you.

      I only have experience with the consumer line, but i would use the professional line to get the job done. the mirror glaze wasn't an option back when i was using Meguiar's on a reg. biases.

        Clay first, like you stated. After claying, if it was my truck, I would use M80 Speed Glaze off the Mirror Glaze line of products. It is fairly cheap, and you can use this product by hand. It has enough cut to take care of the cobwebbing. It is also very rich in polishing oils. This makes the product very easy to work with and will add that deep, wet look to your black truck. Top it with your wax or sealant of choice. NXT Tech Wax 2.0 is a great sealant that looks great on dark colors.

        This is just one way to perfect your finish. There are a bunch of different products you could use to make your finish perfect. Whatever product/products you decide to try, make sure you do a test spot first. This will prevent you from doing the whole truck only to find out the end result wasn't what you wanted.

          thank you and ill get the M80 speed glaze, so if i got this right does this sound like it will work?
          1. Wash with ultimate wash and wax
          2. apply M80 speed glaze
          3. apply gold glass paste

          is there anything else i need to do?

            Kevin, I added a step for you. I'm sure you just forgot to list it.

            1. Wash with ultimate wash and wax
            2. Clay
            3. apply M80 speed glaze
            4. apply gold glass paste

            Sounds good. Don't forget to do a test spot before tackling the whole truck. Read the article on "How to do a test spot". I posted a link in my last post.

            Take before and after pictures. Once the swirls are gone its kinda hard to get pictures of them. Even if you don't think it is bad enough to take pictures, at least snap a few. My father was learning to use a buffer and was going to remove some defects on my sister's vehicle. I told him to take 'before' pictures. He called me up afterwards saying he couldn't believe the difference. I told him to send me the pictures. He said he didn't take any because he didn't think it was "bad enough". He was kicking himself afterwards for not taking any. I said, "See. What did I tell you?"

            Moral of the story? TAKE PICTURES!
