Applying dressing with paint brush

Just to let everyone know I started applying dressing to my tires with a paintbrush and old cup and it seems to work great. I used to get so frustrated with the dressing spraying all over the freshly washed paint and getting everywhere else. Now it's so much easier to apply and you have so much more control as to where it goes. It also does drip onto the rims anymore. I noticed that I've been using a lot less of the product too which is a big plus....

I have never used that approach on tires, however I did use it on the engine vent of an old 70's porsche. Worked really well. I will have to give it a try on tires. Does it apply the dressing evenly?

Interesting... jetta18T are you using a foam brush or a regular brush? Might have to give it a try.

I just use cheapie tire swipes that come in a three pack from Dollar Tree.More or less the same as the EO swipes and for low profile tires and cut them and half and now have double the amount I now have about a five years' supply

As of now I have been using a bristle paintbrush that I picked up at Sears and works GREAT. Applies product very evenly, and neatly. Another thing that I like about it is that it gets into all the little cracks on the tires. I have low profile tires on my Jetta so keeping the product from getting onto the rims is much easier. I haven't tried using a foam brush but I'm sure that would work ok too though. Just wanted to let you know. Merry Christmas to everyone....

I haven't thought of trying the bristle paint brush. I use the foam brushes. I started using this when I began using All Season Dressing this summer. The terry towels I was using left lint on the tires. I get a bag of 10-12 brushes from Wal-Mart for like $0.97. I use the brushes for tires and the plastic trim including the trim piece under the front windshield. This makes applying dressing under/around the wiper arms a snap.

I use the same type of brushes (dampened with interior dressing) to clean vents and other hard to reach places of the interior.

Ive seen the paint brush trick done at the local car wash . Very fast no mess and you save product.

I think you may be on to something there! What size brush, just to match the sidewall height? Natural or synthetic bristles?

I, too, have been utilizing foam paint brushes for years. More recently, I've gone to foam applicators or the foam 'swipe' type of product...

A paint brush makes PERFECT SENSE to get in all the little crevices that a tire presents as a challenge for coverage! Thanks for a great tip!!!
