  • Stripping wax off car....

Would it be better to use Dawn dish soap or APC @ 10:1?

You can use either/or. Both will remove the wax from your car.

I know some will say dawn is too harsh on the cars finish and seals but I know of people who used nothing but dish detergent for years and have never seen any damages caused from it.

I would go with the apc. I tend to stay away from dish soap.

If Dawn is gentle enough to use on your own hands/skin, it's gentle enough to use on paint.

          Not really.

It tends to dry out any vinyl or plastic cladding or trim on the vehicle. Strips most waxes and sealants as well. I guess it probably will not do any damage that is permanent though.

Is 10:1 strong enough or should I go with 8:1 or 6:1?

I agree. I was solely referring to paint.

Using it one time will not hurt anything....

I would ask why you are wanting to though?

Well yeah... but why? If there is some wax on my car, and it can withstand Gold Class, Clay, and SwirlX.... It can stay there as long as it wants.

Maybe the OP will tell you why. I was just making a comment.

But if you are going to strip off wax, around 90% of the time you need to clay as well....
