  • Two Detail Q's...

Just finished up with my DA&39. I have some splatter spots around the truck.

1- Would it hurt to use quick detailer around the whole truck before continuing. Also, can I take a new 8006, spray it with quick detailer and do the entire truck lightly&quickly.

2- I am assuming that I am to use my M5(new car glaze) before my NXT2 or the other way around?

Please let this be a typo. M39 is our Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner - you did not just use that, did you?

You certainly can use QD on the entire vehicle between steps, but that is not something you would use on an 8006 or any other pad. It's a mist & wipe product so you spray it on a small area and wipe it off immediately.

Yes, any polish goes on before the wax. Just remember to work the M05 in small areas and wipe off before it dries. The NXT Tech Wax 2.0 you will apply with a finishing pad and cover all painted surfaces of the truck, then give it another 30 minutes to dry before wiping off.

The only reason I had said about the 8006 is because some of the sling spots are dried up and a wee bit tough to rub off. Or will just misting them make it simple to fiber off?

        Many Thanks:

Using QD will take care of it and thank God it was a typo!

Just out of stupid curiosity, what would happen if one did use a DA with M39? What would happen to the finish? Again, I stress I did not do this.

You wouldn't hurt the finish necessarily, but you'd strip all the wax off an dull the appearance. Plus M39 is a spray product (ie, very watery in consistancy) so you'd definitely be slinging it all over the garage!
