    Hi Fred,

ColorX is an aggressive cleaner/wax but it's not near as aggressive as compound or a paint cleaner. You should be able to safely use it as often as you like.

Note: If you're working on a neglected finish and using this product fairly aggressively to restore it to new condition, in the future, you won't have to use it as aggressively because you will have already restored the finish. That is unless you let the finish degrade again.

Remember, part of the cleaning strength of a cleaner wax comes from you, and the pressure you apply either by hand or machine.

    Hope this helps...

Sounds like Barry and the Car Crazy Team need ship out for a tour of duty in Europe.

The must be millions of helpless, deprived car finishes over there begging to be saved and maintained.

I believe all of those companies make tools that will work very well. Be sure to choose one that has a hook and loop (Velcro) backing plate available.

You may also find that Flex and Festo also make very good polishers.

                Hi Fred,

To date, the dual action polisher built by the Porter Cable company is the de-facto polisher for ease of use and consistency in results. Once you get one, here is a thread that discussion how to safely power it considering the differences in our electrical systems.

Hey there bought a PC now need the products and a Power Converter

I'm not sure what those other companies offer that is similar.

                    Hi Fred,

I've used the Makita BO6040 and so far I would not recommend it. It works, but it's not as easy or fool proof as the Porter Cable unit. I have not used the Bosh GEX 150.

It may work for polishing paint but it's one of those things that you'll never know till you try.

I know many people have used a transformer of some type to adjust for the electrical supply in your country and the electrical requirements for the dual action polisher. This would probably be the best route to go.

fred, the closest thing in Europe to the Porter Cable is the Flex X 1107 VE. It is owned by DeWalt who also owns Porter Cable.

Go to http://www.flex-tools.com and do a Product Search for the above model.

                            Technical Data - X 1107 VE
                            Power consumption - 710 Watt
                            Power output - 420 Watt
                            Speed/Strokes - 4 300 - 13 000 /min
                            Stroke - 8,8 mm
Grinding disc max. dia. - 150 mm
                            Weight - 2,4 kg

                            I hope this helps.
