Do they recommend washing this before first use??

Some people wash everything they get before first use. I do too. If you don't you will notice that it absorbs differently when reacting with water, and you don't know how much dirt/dust/wax it's already collected from where you bought it.

I always wash my Water Magnets, ADS towels, and Supreme Shines before I use them.

I don't, but it's up to you. Pretty much a matter of personal preference. I think there's a poll on that around here somewhere.
