  • Jeep Wrangler / Clay Bar Worry

First I am new here and haven't really figured out how to search for answers. (sorry in advance it this has been answered)

I have a 2008 Wrangler 4-door Unlimited that is Black. I am getting ready to detail starting with the clay bar kit. My concern is about getting the Quick Detailer on the windows when I do around the doors and front windshield. (will it come off?)

If I skip doing the paint areas around the front window and top section of the doors, will there be a noticable difference in the final outcome ?

My plan is to clay bar, swirlx, polish then Gold Class liquid wax. Any suggestion on my plan would also be appreciated.

I use QD (Actually Last Touch) and a clay bar to clean my windows all the time. I follow up with a glass cleaner, no issues.

Yes the quick detailer comes off from the windows, just wipe it with the MF.

Maybe you dont have to polish after the SwirlX, SwirlX is a Cleaner/Polish product.

Its ok to clay the upper area of the windows. QD wont damage them or stain them.

just make sure you wipe the QD after you finished the panel you were working on.

      Ohhh.. before i forget...

Thanks, also what works better with putting swirlx on, microfiber or terry cloth?

Ive never used SwirlX on MF or Terry.. Ive always used the Foam applicator pad.
But if you ask me i would go with the MF.

I've only used foam, but I suspect terry would be more aggressive than a microfiber. Start with the least aggressive; i.e. foam to start. And, yes, it'll take a few vigorously applied applications. For major correction, opt for a DA polisher unless you're in training for the Olympic arm wrestling team.

No worries about off coming off your glass. Not a issue.

Follow RGB's advice on the terry.

If a foam pad would be the way to start off, any idea where I can find them ? Autozone here doesn't have them they only have microfiber.

Thanks again for all the help.
