  • How to remove wax from brand new tires

I ordered a set of tires from Tirerack and I want to remove the wax before having them mounted. I'm having a difficult time. I tried dish soap and water, then Spraynine, then tire cleaner. No luck.

I'm assuming I need a solvent based product, but though I'd ask before attempting to apply something that may dry out the tires. Suggestions?

I suggest Meguiars super degreaser diluted. This is not a suggested Meguiars practice but I can't see it harming the tires as long as your wheels are protected.

Agitating with a stiff tire brush will help the process, if you haven't already done so. All Purpose Cleaner is a good choice too.

Give the apc a go. You can adjust the dilution ratio from 10:1 all the way to 4:1.
