Will a larger hose produce greater pressure? or what really matters is the nozzle?

Re: how to get pressure when using a hose
Well, depends on the system pressure, hose length, and where your smallest diameter is.
Assumung you have decent system pressure, you would likely do best with a larger dia hose and a small 'jet' nozzle. But kind of hard to wash a car with that, though could do an initial rinse with it. And cant go bigger than the faucet dia.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Re: how to get pressure when using a hose
I thought my outside water pressure was much lower than inside the house. And it was. I was looking at my pipes and realized the inside pipes were 3/4" in diameter. The pipe going to the outside faucet was 1/2" diameter. I had a plumber install a second faucet with 3/4" diameter piping. I now have amazing water pressure at my front faucet. I can now water my front yard with a single setting of the sprinkler. Plus car washing is much easier. I'm thinking of doing the same with my rear faucet. The only problem is that it would be more expensive because the piping would have to be much longer.
Prior to having this work finished, I would never have thought the larger pipe would give so much additional water pressure. It works well and you might give something like that a try. The only downside for me is the new faucet is not freeze proof so I have to drain the pipe before winter. It isn't a big deal, I just have to remember to do it.

Odd- must be volume. I would have thought the smaller faucet would provide better pressure, a-la holding your thumb over half of the hose end. Interesting...2000 Ford Explorer XLT "Deuce"

I went to a store and there was that bomb.. a pressure bomb that goes in the.. you know that big box that holds the water to your house? I forgot the word.. ok big box of water on the roof, and well, it makes the water get some pressure, gets stronger and all..

The thumb over the hose works because it is at the very end, with a larger diameter hose and then the small opening you leave.
Having a small faucet, and then a larger long hose, and then a nozzle will cause some higher pressure at the faucet, but then less water and pressure flowing through the nose to the nozzle.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Re: how to get pressure when using a hose
I would either go with calling a plumber or replacing the hose with a smaller diameter.
