  • Buffing with Confidence

I just got this DVD today, watched it for 2 hours.

The focus is definitely on the use of the rotary buffer, although he also shows the "double orbital buffer" i.e. the Cyclo and the "single orbital buffer" i.e. the PC. For beginners like myself, it takes you beyond the "practice hood" to the whole car. I found it very worthwhile, very thorough, and I learned a lot. I am sure I will be watching it many times.

I wish I could take the 2-day class.

Without having seen this particular video we can only speculate that, if properly done, there is a lot to gain from really good visuals than what can be conveyed through mere words. A picture may speak a thousand words, but a video can speak many times that. And you're right, a practice hood only gets you so far - eventually you have to put that buffer on a real car. Arming yourself with as much knowledge as possible beforehand is a good idea!

Thanks! It would really be nice to find a victim practice car, since I don't think the Explorer or Volvo will need more than buffing with the DA. But taking a class will be ideal when I get to that point.
