I was doing some reading on another site and they use a synthetic wax because it provides more protection and then use a carnauba wax because it gives more shine. whats everyone's thoughts on this?

Re: NXT Tech Wax then use Deep Crystal System Carnauba Wax. good or bad?
That particular comment makes a pretty broad assumption regarding the two different kinds of wax - synthetic vs carnauba. Plenty of both types provide excellent gloss on any color. In all honesty, when it comes to selecting a wax primarily for how it looks, the choice is about as subjective as whether you like Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Mercedes, BMW, Volvo, Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Lexus, Hyundai..............old cars, new cars, sports cars, SUVs, etc etc etc ad infinitum.
That said, topping a synthetic with a carnauba is quite common, but unless you can visually tell the difference on your car, after spending your time and your money, there really is nothing to be gained from it. So why do people do it then? Because they believe they do see a difference. The problem with making a recommendation, however, is that 10 different people will tell you that their combination of products is the best. Well sure, it's the best to their eyes, but do you like the same thing?Michael Stoops
