  • How to remove white paint

A friend of mine has a read car. She brushed the side of her against a white pole in a parking lot and now has a white streak on the side fender. What's the best way to remove this paint? I have at my disposal: DC1, SwirlX, UC, M105, claybar.
Swirls hide in the black molecular depths, only waiting for the right time to emerge and destroy your sanity.

Apply SwirlX first with a applicator pad using some pressure.
You will have to WORK on it. Try a few application.
If the paint didn't removed completely,
try applying UC with the same method.

    Cheers!~~

Had the same thing with my sister in laws car. UC on speed 6 and a lot of pressure with a few passes took it off.

I would actually try a solvent like lacquer thinner first Al. Try it in an inconspicuous area first but 99% of the time it's safe for cured paint and should easily remove any paint transfer to the car.

Whether you use a paint cleaner of some sort (UC or ScratchX probably being the best first choices) or very careful use of a lacquer thinner as Rasky suggests, be aware that there are likely going to be some scratches below that paint transfer. Once the transferred paint has been successfully removed you will likely need to follow with either a more vigorous application of UC by hand or D/A to correct those defects.

            LOL

Yeah, I guess I probably should have stressed more caution on that one.

I have never come across an OEM paint that couldn't handle a little thinner though. It's those panels that have been repainted that you have to watch out for.

I thought Mike Phillips has suggested in the past to use a DAT product with macro diminishing abrasives such as M04. I would imagine that would scour the paint though and need to be followed up with UC and SwirlX.

Stoners "Tarminator" works fabulous for paint transfer markings.....spray a little on a soft MF towel, with little or no pressure swipe away.....Follow up with a little polish or premium wax to seal and protect and your good!

Haven't tried the Tarminator on them before....I'll have to give that a try!

Yes, that is a very likely scenario. ScratchX 2.0 actually tends to work very well for this, and helps with addressing any underlying scratches/scuffs too.

I also will have to try the tarminator idea. A friend of mine, recently drove over a bucket of paint with his Escalade. What a mess. Of course, He just had some body work done.
