Product question

I just bought a 2006 Mustang GT and the paint is in awesome condition with the exception of some swirl marks and what I hope is surface water spots.

I am sure this question has been asked already, BUT, what Meguiar's product would be my best bet to use to remove these imperfections? I am VERY diligent about keeping my car clean with a coat of wax on it, put it this way, I have owned the car 3 weeks now and have washed it at least 6 times and have waxed it 4 times with Meguiar's NXT Generation TECH WAX, it does a Great job, BUT, doesnt do too much for the swirl marks, it did lessen the water spots, BUT, didnt remove them entirely.

I use a Foam Applicator to apply the wax, and I use microfiber cloths to remove the wax, one to remove the applied wax and another to polish away any remaining wax, and yet another when I'm done with the entire vehicle to ensure all wax is removed.

Any advise will be greatly appreciated, Thank you in advance.

haha. Nice car..First off welcome to MOL...
So i would stop waxing so much...4 times in 3 weeks with a sealent...thats kinda excessive...But to answer ur question..
I would...
Wash
Clay
Use SwirlX - to remove swirls and minor imperfections..if that doesnt work u can step it up to a stronger product such as Ultimate Compound
And finally apply Nxt 2.0 (two THIN coats)

And then just maintain the finish....Is ur car parked outside 24/7??

Thank you for your reply, I know I'm a bit excessive when it comes to keeping my car clean, is it a bad thing to wax with a sealant as often as I have? I didnt realize NXT was a sealant BTW.

I have heard about Swirl X, I will try that as soon as I can find it, Thank you again for your reply.

Well, everytime you touch it, there is the chance to put in swirls. So probably dont want to over do it...

And yeah, a wax wont remove swirls....

Follow the above advice and you should be swirlfree in no time. I also agree waxing it so many times in such a short period of time is a bit excessive.

Wow, That 5 Step Paint Care Cycle sounds amazing, I am definitely going to do it that way, I have not seen those vids yet, I am on dial up, out here in the country I will watch them on my blackberry tho.

I am going to make a list of everything I need to follow that 5 step cycle and order it from you guys.

Seeing as Mustang paint tends to be a bit more difficult to polish, you may need to bump up to Ultimate Compound if SwirlX doesn't quite work out. Make sure you do a test spot as well so you don't do the whole car and then realize it didn't do anything.

Another way to say it is the paint tends to be harder. If you have a "soft[er]" paint, defects come out easier, but they tend to marr easier too. Mustangs it seems are the opposite. Before Ultimate Compound, M105, M205 and such came out, us D/A users had M83. SwirlX is one step above M83 with a D/A, so I'd expect pretty similar results for the most part. Perhaps the new "cutting" technology in SwirlX will help make a more noticeable difference. Not sure. It took me three passes with the D/A to get the paint less-corrected than I have been able to with one hand application of M105. It's just tough stuff. For me, I'll be sticking with M105 for the heavy duty cleaning of the paint on my Mustang.
