The steaming wouldn't hurt it, from what I know. Your basically just using the steam as a method to lift the dirt. It shouldn't remove any more dye if that's what has come off. Overall, I would stay try the steaming if its readily available, otherwise, I would go with a toothbrush before a wheel cover. After all, if your putting a cover on, any possible damage from using the toothbrush will be covered up anyway.Comment

Those wheel skins look okay. I would give steaming a try. If your going to purchase a wheel skin anyway. Would not hurt to try.quality creates its own demandComment
