Paint cleaner?

So i have never done any paint correction on my "personal" vehical. It has some swirls and needs to be done b4 the summer...is this a good process..?

1. Wash
2. Clay
3. another quick wash
4. M205 with a PC XP or UC..we will have to see
5. Nxt 2.0

And what exactly is a paint cleaner? is M205 a cleaner?...Should i "clean" before i do paint correction? Please clarify this...

No need to wash after claying.

A 'paint cleaner' removes the dirt from the pores of the paint, and depending on the product, can remove scratches, swirls, etc.

Some products are cleaner/polsihes, meaning they also havea fair amount of polishing oils in the product.

And yes, #205 is a cleaner/polish. The cleaning and correcting is dont in the same step. Would just need to do a test spot or two to see which product you need to use.

On products, a paint cleaner means to remove defects like, scratches, swirls, oxidation, etching, stains, etc. These are defects "in" the paint.

So basically, when you are removing defects or correcting the paint as you put it you are cleaning it.

Your process sounds good. Nice so see that you have on thing in mind and that is that you will test M205 to see the results you get and if not you'll go up to Ultimate Compound.

I agree with yalerd make a test spot to see how it works up in your paint, if its not what you expected try the UC.

okie dokie. Thanks guys. hopefully soon i can get it done. The pollen is just too crazy @ the moment and BTW, Happy Easter!
