  • Debadge a car help??

This summer, after i gets real warm. I think im gonna debadge my car. I have seen some pics of my car having this done. On the pics i saw where u could see the word faded into the paint..is this easily removed with a yellow pad and some M205? Anyone debadged there car? If so did u have any problems with faded paint? Thanks!

    How old is the car?

The newer the paint (less faded), the better.. It is not the area under the badge that is faded, it is the rest of the car.

You can often use a heat gun or even a high output hair dryer to loosen up the adhesive and then use monofilament fishing line between the body of the car and the back of the badge.

I just de-badged my Charger. Was easy. Used a heat gun and a "pick" to remove the badge. When I say pick I mean a small tool that has a curve or hook on the end. Just grabbed the badge and pulled gently while applying the heat. Nothing touched the paint. After everything cooled down I just used my fingernail to remove the rest of the tape. A quick buff with some M205 and you can't tell they were ever there. I removed four badges on my car this way.

          Floss also works.

WD-40 or fishing line works also.

Yes. The whole idea is to heat up the tape holding the badge. Dental floss/fishing line works well also once the tape is warm. Let us know how it goes.
