  • ultimate quik wax

hey fellas .. so i was reading on the label it says the product will not leave white residue on black trim .. i guess im wondering if its safe to just rub it in and leave it ...i have black plastic trim around every window .. i try to tape it off when waxing but it would be a pain to have to do it every time i use uqw or even uqd ..
i have not yet purchased the last touch spray .. would that be more safe for my trim ? or can you guys recommend something thats safe for both my trim and paint ?

also id just like to add that i just got some gc carnuba wax to top off my nxt .. ive never tried it and im very excited to see how it comes out

I've used ultimate quik wax on my windows before without taping off the trim and I haven't noticed any white residue. I spray it directly on the window and wipe off (same method for paint). I don't think you need to "rub it in"

No worries. Never had the white residue.

my concern is not if it leaves the residue .. i believe that it does not .. my concern is whether its safe for the plastic or not and if i have to reclean the trim everytime i do happen to get some spray on it ....

Yes, you can apply it to everything also.

No need to worry about that. Just to prove how safe UQW is on plastic trim, and that it doesn't even come close to staining it, we've actually intentionally sprayed it so heavily onto textured plastic outside mirrors that it was literally dripping onto the floor. We walked away and came back 10 minutes later. The floor was wet, but the mirror was totally dry and looked like it had been treated with a vinyl cleaner instead of loaded up with a spray wax.

Just do your plastic whenever you're using UQW on your glass or paint. It'll make 'em look great!

                  awesome thanks guys ..

how long after your regular wax do you start adding quik wax ?

i just spent all day yesterday and this morning detailing the stang and i tried the deep crystal polish and it worked pretty nicely .. there was definately a visual differance ..
but i read somewhere here that it has no cutting action .. the paint is clear coat except for the bumper and when i was polishing that area paint was showing on the pad so it does cut somewhat ..after the dc i put one thin coat of nxt .. im letting it dry then im putting 2 more coats of gold class

Most people will use a spray wax as a booster type product, generally following subsequent washings once the vehicle has been properly waxed.

While Deep Crystal Polish doesn't have any cutting ability of its own, you can still see some color transfer depending on what applicator you use and how hard you press down on that applicator. A foam wax applicator pad has very little cut, terry cloth has quite a bit. For equal pressure and time we would expect to see more color transfer with a terry applicator, just as would expect to see more color transfer if you were rubbing really hard as opposed to using a very gentle application process. There's more to how any product interacts with the paint than just the product itself - applicators and application method play very important roles here.

So the bumper is still a single stage paint? and when you was applying the polish, what you was seeing was alittle old oxidized dead paint. Nothing wrong, common on SS paint.

                      Very nice stang!

You can use it after your next regular wash. Give your wax a boost.
