I've had two pads from another brand fail on me like that, but never a Meguiar's pad. Never. And the Meguiar's pads have been washed more often!!

        Hi gorin!
I just noticed that they're even more expensive in the Netherlands....
Don't think they have these at the german Meguiar's online store.
devilgloss.de are offering the pads around 20 Euros each.

        But now BTT!

I never wash my pads (have both E2K, and Lake Country) in a washing machine. I also never used any soap to wash then either. I found another product (sorry Meguiar's, but you don't make one), called DP Polishing pad rejuvenator, that works very well. It does an excellent job cleaning (I soak them in for 15 minutes), and there is no way I'll be using soap again on those pads.

I wash mine in dishsoap and then squeeze them out carefully and air dry them on my gritguard, works great!

There is a special bucket that you can use to clean your pads, you just stick the pad into a hole and run it for a couple of seconds.. Don't remember the name, but ill check with the guy that i saw had one..

I had a yellow pad fall and touch the ground of my garage. If I wash it correctly and let it soak, will I be fine or do I need to throw it out and purchase a new one?

Wow, original post was from 2004. But to answer your question just check your pad thoroughly to make sure there is not dirt or anything else that might scratch your paint. If you do plan to throw them away just cut the pad into 4 pieces and use that as a tire dressing applicator. You should get a couple of uses from one piece. If not you can use it as a pad to kneel on when working on the lower portions of your car.
