  • NXT 2 paste not spreading

I don't know if it's just me, or what but I have a problem with the NXT 2 paste. It seems to take a lot more on my buffing pad that other hard paste waxes and then, it doesn't want to spread out. I use a foam applicator pad to apply the wax to my buffer pad and make sure the entire pad is covered before starting on the car.

But then, it won't spread out evenly on even one panel unless I really work it in.

    Any thoughts?

I sometimes have the same problem with GC paste, the new version and the old version. I have always had that problem and figured that it was merely a part of the waxing game. I have to work each panel pretty well before the thin layer of wax is spread evenly.

I normally only apply paste by hand and use liquids when using the G110. There is no difference between liquid and paste, so go ahead and use liquid instead, or just go by hand with your paste.

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

        I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
        Remove swirls my friends.

What was the ambient temp when you waxed?

Just another reason to use the liquid. Never had these problems.

I've used both the paste and the liquid versions of NXT 2.0, and I find the paste to be harder to spread and work with. I've used it several times in various conditions. I'll stick with the liquid.

I'd bought both the liquid and the paste and at the moment I'm out of the liquid, so I thought I'd use up the paste before getting more of the liquid. I'm glad to see that others have found the paste more difficult to use.

Re: NXT 2 paste not spreading

I just gave the car another coat by hand this time and even though I realy tried, I couldn't manage to get it to spread thinly. It was a bear to take off (it took three microfibers), but there was no cloudiness like I normally get with the NXT 2.0 liquid or with 21v2.

Maybe I'll have to practice a bit more with the paste.

Re: NXT 2 paste not spreading

I usually get awesome results with GC Carnauba Plus paste wax with minimal effort to take it off. I actually think it is the easiest wax to take off.

Have not tried the NXT paste but I have heard that NXT paste is quite soft for a paste wax making it harder to put on that thin, even coat.

Have you tried M20? Its even easier to remove IMO.

I haven't tried M20 yet. Always looking to try a new product though.
