  • Unsure which product to use *pics inside*

Hello all. I have a question concerning about which product to use on my window moldings and the vertical mouldings between my windows. I have an 05 Neon Srt-4

I was debating between Ultimate Protectant, All Season Dressing, or Trim Detailer. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If it's rubber or vinyl I would recommend M40. It's a product that has more cleaning ability.

Hmm.. for the immediate rubber by the window, #40 or Ultimate Protectant, or AllSeason Dressing would be good.

For the plastic above that, it looks a little tougher. Could try a dressing, though I think SwirlX or Ultimate Compound could be good choices also.

Best I've found for this stuff is the acrylic cleaner/sealants like Klasse AIO, Werkstat Prime, Carlack 68 nano, etc. I'm not sure if there is a comparable Meg's product.

          Thanks for the replies guys.

I went ahead and bought some UP yesterday to try.

Murr~ Wouldnt swirlx or UC scratch the plastic? I have access to some megs pro products ( I work at a dodge dealership). How would working in some light rubbing compound then topping with UP fair? Or UP only?

Also what in the pro lineup is close to swirlx or uc that can be worked in by hand?

Sorry for all the questions. I'm a newb :-/

On the textured plastic in the first pic, I'd go with Ultimate Protectant. On the smooth plastic in the second pic, I'd go with either Ultimate Compound or M105.

            smooth plastic before

after Ultimate Compound on a foam applicator

As some of the others have said, in your first picture use some UP. However, in the second, the oxidized looking part you should go ahead and use some swirlx or ultimate compound (what specific product do you have availiable to you at work?). You shouldn't need to hit it with UP and the swirl x or UC shouldn't scratch the plastic.

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

              I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
              Remove swirls my friends.

I'm not 100 sure what they have in recon, i work in service. I'll ask. I know he has some m66 coz he suggested i wax my car with that because he said it wouldn't turn my trim white if I get it on it like regular wax. He actually waxes the plastic trim, rubber and door handles with it.

I noticed today that my cowl panel is also starting to not look that great either. Would y'all suggest UP on that?

I bought the car about 2 months ago from a different dealership so I don't know what all they used to make the trim look black but as I wash it you can see where what thy used is wearing off and looking like it did before they detailed it.

I also forgot to ask, after the uc or m105 what do you use to maintain the plastic?

Apply a cleaner wax like M20 Polymer Sealant every other month.
