Does anyone know where to buy just the clay bar for automotive use? I've used the Blue Clay kit that comes with the spray. However, I have a lot of spray left but the clay bar is pretty dirty since I used it on a car that had a lot of bonded contaminants. Is it safe to use the clay you can buy at art supply shops so long as it's smooth and I use the lubricant? Thanks.

I highly recommend www.meguiars.com
Meguiar's sells a kit that is similar to the Clay-Magic kit that you've mentioned. It's called the Quik Clay kit and can be viewed/purchased here.
Everything that you need, minus a few Ultimate Wipe Detailing Cloths, is included in the package!
If you're reluctant to purchase products online (as I know some are), I'd recommend utilizing Meguiar's Dealer Locator as it should get you much closer to this Meguiar's product.
Let us know if you have any additional questions!

You could also go to a local PBE and get some Overspray Clay. It is sold without the lube. If they don't stock it, you can probably get it in a day or two.

Sorry about that sstephen17. I apparently misunderstood your request.
Personally, I'd still go with the Quik Clay system as the Quik Detailer (the lubricant spray with the kit) is a 'mist and wipe' type of product that can be used as often as you wish to remove very light surficial contamination like dust, smudges, and finger prints on your paint; not just, exclusively, with the clay. I literally go through GALLONS of this type of product in a typical year as they're EXCELLENT for maintaining a clean, freshly waxed vehicle. I don't think you can ever have enough...
If you're totally against the idea of the kit, I would then recommend Meguiar's Detailing Clay and even more specifically, the MILD variety (C-2000). This clay will be slightly more aggressive than the clay that comes in the Quik Clay kit however; it's still very user friendly and should be used in the exact same manner that the Quik Clay was to have been used.
I think you're very wise for replacing your clay bar; especially if it's starting to look dingy. Dirty clay can cause problems depending on what's suspended within the bar itself.
Word to the wise: Use clean clay!
Thanks for the questions! If you have any others, feel free to chime back in!
