  • 93 mustang clear coat

    hey guys again ..

Im just curious if anyone has ever worked on one of these cars and also just how hard my clear coat may be ..

Ive tried everything up to the strength of uc with seemingly no results at all by hand ... I understand a machine will work much better but id think after a while by hand youd have to see some kind of change ..

Really id just like to know who has had experiances with these cars and how it worked out for them .. mine as far as i know is original from the factory and its called vibrant red clearcoat ..
BTW this site rocks !!!! lol thanks again fellas

My 93 Mustang GT convertible is Vibrant Red clear coat as well. I'd say the hardness is medium, based on owning it for 10 years.

Woeking by habd can be tough. In my own exsperiances I don't get good results ( ok results maybe) by hand on any car I've tried. I'm surprised however that you don't see any results. Can you post some pics of what your trying to remove? What is your meathod for applying the product?

I have a black clearcoat '92 Mustang, but I can't comment since mine has an aftermarket clearcoat on it.

How have you been applying the UC - type of applicator, size area at a time, amount of pressure, etc? Some clear coats can get pretty hard as they age, but hand work takes a pretty aggressive application process, generally speaking, to get good results.
