  • M40 v.s. natural shine

I normally use M40 only when detailing my engine compartment. For interior plastic and tires i used to use another manufacturer product and i happened to ran out of my last bottle this weekend.

I was planning on switching to M40 for using it also on interior and tires but, i also ran out of my last bottle!

I bought a bottle of natural shine at the store and it worked great, specially on tires.

My question is, how does M40 and natural shine compare to each other? I would only like to use one of them, so if you had to choose, which one would you pick?

If I had to choose one....

I would pick M40, I think it has more protection of rubber and vinyl than NS. I have both in my arsenal and use them both. I use M40 a lot on my door seal rubber along with the manufacturer of using dielectric grease with it.

NS is great stuff too and I do use it. I use M40 then do a final wipe to get the satin look or let it be for a shine.

Keep both if you want, not too expensive at all. I buy M40 by the gallon.....

I would pick M40. I use M40 primarily on tires and interiors, but it can also be used on fenderwells, engines, trim etc. M40 is going to be slightly less glossy than Natural Shine and M40 has more cleaner in it.

I dont think Natural Shine will have the same exterior durability as M40.

I agree with the above...M40 is more durable than natural shine. One thing to consider though is their particular scent. I do not like the smell of M40, so I will not use it on my interior. I used it once on my interior and the smell seems to last longer than natural shine...which I do like the smell of.

Durability issues concerns me. I would choose #40 for exterior applications over natural shine.

Interior, it is your choice. For example the wife loves the smell of #40. Get's upset if anything else is used on her interior. Me I like trying different products.

We had rain where I am all day today and the M40 I applied to the exterior plastic and tires has yet to run. I am a huge fan of M40 but I also like NS for the interior. I am one of those people who thoroughly enjoys the smell of M40 and I don't know why. However, I have not tried the new NS. I am waiting to start to run low on M40 and then will pick smoe and give it a shot!

I detailed the interior of 2 vehicles this past weekend and used Meguiar's M40 exclusively. Without a doubt Meguiar's M40 is "the" finest product for vinyl and plastic that I've ever used. It wipes on and off nice and leaves a satin glow plus it smells great. It's not sticky or slippery, it's just right!

Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

I only use M40 under the hood because I can't stand its smell. Very effective product however.

I use Natural Shine on interiors when the owner doesn't want it very shiny. Some people don't want their dash to reflect on the windshield, I can understand that.

Love it, smells sort of leathery and lasts for nearly a week.
