  • after paint correction.....

hey there fellas ... ok lets say i washed then clayed then a paint cleaner to remove all the old wax ...
now from there if i was to use uc , scratchx and swirlx or different areas of the car depending on how bad the scratches -swirls are .....
now my question is should i go over the whole car with cleaner again to remove these products or can i go straight to polish then wax ??? thank you

    Re: after paint correction.....

What do you mean by paint cleaner? (cleaner wax?) Because as far as I know, Ultimate Compound and Swirl X are paint cleaners, and you should always wax it after using paint cleaners on the paint.

I think he means Deep Crystal System Paint Cleaner, correct? That is an unnecessary step if you are going to use UC or Swirlx. Both of these items are paint cleaners as they will remove scratches, stains, etc. The Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner will do the same but is much less effective because it is a very very mild cleaner.

Once you remove the cleaners with a microfiber, the paint is clean of them. For example, you use Swirlx on an area, and then wipe off with a microfiber towel. The paint is now bare and you are free to apply polish to this area. Paint cleaners do not leave a coat of anything behind but only work while being worked against the finish via aplicator pad. No need to use Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner again.

      Hope this helps!

Yes thanks that is what i meant . i always thought of cleaning and paint correction as seperate steps .
Paint correction is a big process for me i dont think it will ever end haha im never happy and i give up to easily .
I always wash, clean, polish and wax , so i dont always get into the uc , swirlx or scratchx.
So from now on its good to know i can skip the cleaning step if i feel like working on my defects Thanks guys ...

I just want to make sure we are on the same page. Paint cleaning always involves some kind of paint correction. Whether the correction is removing bonded contaminants via a clay bar or removing scratches through the proper paint cleaning agent, correction is being made.

Overall, you cannot work on defects without cleaning the paint because they are essentially the same idea. Good luck.
