  • Meguiar's Supreme Shine Protectant Question

I used this product on my car with a vinyl interior and it looked amazing so I want to use this on my other car with a leather interior. Is this safe for leather? The bottle says its for vinyl, rubber, and plastic, but if I get results like with my vinyl interior car, I'd really like to use this on my leather interior car.

I would not use it on leather.

Re: Meguiar's Supreme Shine Protectant Question

As Tuck said, don't use it on your leather, chances are it won't harm the leather but you are going to be slipping off of your seat because it is so slick.

I'd suggest using the Gold Class Rich Leather Cleaner and Conditioner instead

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

      I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
      Remove swirls my friends.

Re: Meguiar's Supreme Shine Protectant Question

Ive been told that you can dress a vinyl surface with a leather conditioner but you cannot dress a leather surface with a vinyl conditoner or typical dressing. I know that using #40 on leather can harm the leather's protective coating, I would imagine that same thing goes for Supreme Shine.

I have been dressing leather with Quik interior Detailer these days anyways

I would go with a dedicated leather product, also.

Re: Meguiar's Supreme Shine Protectant Question

It should not be used, primarily due to it being way too slippery to sit on. It may also damage the leather coating, depending on the type of leather.

Re: Meguiar's Supreme Shine Protectant Question

We recommend staying with a dedicated leather product for leather interiors. As has been mentioned, you can safely use our leather products on vinyl and plastics, but not the vinyl products on leather.
