  • Soft Wash Brush

Are any wash brushes available that are safe for use on clearcoat and dont instill swirls?? Talking brushes here, not lambwool , microfiber, or sponges.

Never use a brush on paint. No matter how soft the bristles look or feel, the brush will scratch the clear coat.

I've heard of people using boar's hair body brushes, though I've never tried.

Boars hair brush seems like it might be ok to use. I wash a lot of trucks and I am looking for a long handle brush. This brush is supposed to be all natural boars hair and safe for clearcoat. Has anybody tried one of these?

Meh, I'm not really comfortable with brushes. I would stick with a lambs wool or microfiber mitt.

Think about it this way, the time you save by using a brush over a wash mitt may be lost in correcting your paint if the brush causes swirls thus negating the benefit.

          Just my two cents.

[I] also have never been a fan of brushes. I prefer the microfiber mitt. I am sure there are some great brushes out there. I just have never been a fan of them. To each his own.

I have a couple of the Meguiar's Versa-Angle Body Brushes and have used them for removing love bugs and other insects. They have never scratched my paint I'm happy to report. They are discontinued now, sad to say.

                Re: Soft Wash Brush

I've used several different types of boar's hairs brushes and have never had a problem with leaving marks of any kind on clear coat. Standard rules apply: keep soap/brush material clean; keep car lubed. If you were to be pushing around dirt/grit or use the brush on the finish after using on wheels, the would cause damage just like a MF would probably.

With all that being said; I still prefer MF wash mitt.
