  • The void between hand waxing and power tools...

So, mostly for the sake of efficiency, I want to find a motorized gizmo to speed up the waxing process. Around 200rpms. Not quite as fast and dangerous as a buffer but quicker than hand waxing.

Do you own a dual action polisher?

Re: The void between hand waxing and power tools...

I love, love, love using a DA on speeds 1-3 for spreading wax (depending on the type of wax and my intentions). It cuts waxing time down by a factor of 4 or 5 for me.

It's also nice to have the G110 or G110v2 in the event you want to actually polish to remove defects - even with a safe, light polish like M80, M82 or M205.

But if you want to go cheap, an orbital buffer will spread wax, but not much else.

Tuck: No, I do not own a dual action polisher.

Mark: I was thinking a simple orbital would still be rotating too fast for just waxing. Do you think it would work for what I'm looking for? I trust the opinions from you guys.

I would just apply your choice of wax or paint sealant by hand then. I think its a waste of money to pay $30 for an orbital polisher just to spread wax.

Will it remove wax in addition with a separate cover?

And can you give me a rpm range that it shouldnt exceed? thanks

If you put on another clean microfiber bonnet then yes, it will remove the wax. But your going to get a more insured removal by hand with a clean microfiber towel.
