  • 55*F today!!!!!

well guys, since its gonna be 55-60 today, I'm going to go out and wash my truck, my moms SUV and power wash all the driveway and patio etc to get a head start on spring cleanup. Don't forget my truck has fresh paint as of 2/12/10.

Any suggestions for products to use on vehicles that haven't been washed very much since last fall, I'm talking road salt, sand, all the winter "deaths" if you will are heavily bonded to all our vehicles paint surfaces. Wont be doing any correction or anything, just a THOROUGH washing and cleaning to get 99% of contaminants off.

Any suggestions on products would be AWESOME!

For your own truck I would use NXT Generation Car Wash. I would also be sure to clean the wheels, tires, and wheelwells very well with something like All Purpose Cleaner and various brushes.

You might want to give the new Ultimate Wash and Wax a try on your Mom's SUV. It cleans quite well and leaves behind a great finish.

you will be fine with the gc wash. Enjoy your early start on spring cleaning.

I'd suggest putting the hose spray on a single stream and try to blast as much of the grime off with the water before you hit it with the wash mit.

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

          I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
          Remove swirls my friends.

If the cars haven't been washed in a while and things are bonded to the surface, some clay might be a good idea.

UWW did a good job on winter grime when I used it. Seemed to go far as well, as far as one bucket with a good bit of soap doing two vehicles (Mercury Mariners).

I'd most certainly not use a powerwasher on fresh paint.
