    Re: Brown Tires

Hmm, that would make a lot of sense for me Mike. Most of the tires on my cars are the "high mileage rated" set as you state. I do have one set of performance tires that I could test though. But I also stopped using Endurance Gel since it was too shiny for my liking.

I guess I can do a test though. I'll put it on a daily driver in my family. The test will probably consist of:
    1. Endurance Gel
    2. Hot Shine Tire Spray
    3. Finish Kare #108
    4. *control* tire

That way I can try to see which one does the blooming more often. Might be some useful info for the members with the "high mileage" tires. I'll try to start on it this weekend or during my Spring Break which starts the 29th.
    Hello, I am Isaac

      Re: Brown Tires

Dressing tires w/o cleaning them properly first will get unsatisfactory brownish results; they'll look yucky because you're dressing dirt.

There's a fix for that if it happens even after a cleaning and dressing of a particularly neglected tire; rub it like mad w/ a towel and the solvent in the dressing (especially the slimy blue stuff) will disolve the dirt.

I always dry-buff tires after cleaning and dressing; it looks so much better, much more even-looking and satin-like. I can't stand shiny tires- soooo overdone!
They go w/ huge wings and lift kits!

Anybody ever use Shineola from Gliptone? Instant gratification in a spray can.

        Re: Brown Tires

First let me say I am not trying to defame Meguiar's. Everything I have ever used has been nothing less than perfect, however, I am still suspicious of the Endurance as being my problem with MY tire browning.

I do clean my tires religiously with a tire brush and APC. They were and always are very clean when I apply the Endurance. These are top of the line Michelins (no idea what the mileage rating it) but I have had other Michelins before and they never turned brown when I used other tire dressings. Maybe it is a problem with this particular Michelin version, maybe road salt, maybe the mouse the garage has been tire marking, or something else is the problem. That said, I took off a couple of wheels this weekend to have a look at the brakes, and noticed that the inside of the tire, where I have never put Endurance, was not brown. It looked perfect.

Like I have read here several times, if you like a product, then stick with it. I am certainly sticking with my ColorX, #16, etc, but I am sorry, the Endurance has already be introduced to the garbage bin.
