Generously apply a detailer product onto your finish, then use the claybar of choice. It will take two hands, one with the clay, and one spraying in front of it with the detailer. It doesn't take that long, and not much pressure needs to be applied. I've corrected several paint jobs with paint overspray; the clay will take off all bonded contaminates; also squeeze and roll the clay in your hand. And, if you EVER drop the clay bar on the grass or concrete, just toss it; it's no good anymore.

          Hi James!!!

Check out some of the videos on Meguiars.com also.

          Meguiar’s Complete Video Guide

Claying is very easy to do and is really great for your cars finish. You will be amazed how much dirt is trapped in your paint. When you are finished claying your paint will be as smooth as glass and ready for polishing and waxing.

Re: Need to know more about claybar-detailing

The first time I was going to clay. I was extremely hesitant. But, by the time I was done with the first section, I was amazed at how such a simple step could improve the clarity and depth of shine on the paint.

Spray tour quik detailer. About a 2x2 area. Tear the clay bar into 3 sections. Knead the clay into a pancake. place in the palm of your hand. Rub clay over lubed section. Wipe section with a clean supreme shine microfiber. Except for dividing the clay into 3 pieces. Repeat the steps until entire vehicle is done.

You can use the smooth surface clay kit for this.

Re: Need to know more about claybar-detailing

claying is quite easy. 2 steps to follow, always keep the area lubed, and work in a back and forth motion. depending on the condition of the paint, this is where you will choose what clay you need. ie:mild/abrasive.

don't forget when your done to give it a thorough wipedown and a wax depending on your final steps.
