  • flat paint comeing out shiny

Ok well i just started to paint my bike. I primed it and i wanted it to have a flat black look. So i went on ebay found hot rod flatz and bought it. It came in the mail and a few days later started painting. I started outside because it was only a bike frame and was not to concerned about getting dust and so forth. One light coat and it looked very shiny. The next day i wet sanded with 800 grit and sprayed a new coat. Looked verrrry shiny. So now i started to get concerned with why it was comeing out shiny when the can specifically said hot rod flatz. I want to call the company and ask to see if maby they sent me the wrong can of paint but i wanted to post on this before i made a fool of myself. Thanks for the help!!

Well if you sand or polish flat paint you will add gloss to it.

I don't know anything about that specific paint, but I would suggest contacting the manufacturer before proceeding further in your project.

Edit* KustomShop Hot Rod Flatz Urethane is a pre-flattened ready to spray low-gloss color with the desired 30-degree satin primer appearance.
