  • Does DQ or UQD do any harm applied right after LSP?

    Quick question,

After you apply your LSP and wipe off, if you use QD or UQD to "clean up" afterward, does it do any harm to the LSP you just applied? Is it bad practice to use any QD after applying any sealant/wax for durability reasons?

    Thanks!

If you just applied an LSP, your surface should have been "perfect" to begin with. Just after applying your wax, unless you're waxing in a dust storm, your surface should be shiny and clean as can be. There really is no reason to use a detailer directly after.
There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

Well in my case, I seem to get streaking of my LSP after, QD cleans it up...

That's why I ask... And yes, my LSP coats are thin and have had cure time. I just seem to have bad luck with them

It is nice to let the wax set up a bit before getting it wet, messing with it.

I also think that you should let your wax cure a bit. Then do something else to the finish. Just my preference.

Alright sounds good guys! I will smack another coat on then without the QD afterward

            Thanks for the input!

It's not recommended, but I've done it before with no adverse effects. Really best not to though.

should not affect your product unless your using a paint sealant. in that case, a paint sealant takes up to 12 hours to accept the cure time. this should be untampered with. myself, i'll let the wax set up a few hours after buffing off depending on the time of day before i hit it with a qd.
